Fruit Chaat

What is amazing about this Fruit Chaat is that it is perfect for any season. In the winter, you will enjoy the perky flavours, while in the summer you will enjoy the juiciness of the fruits..

Ingredients

  •    Apple - 1, large, cubed
  •    Banana - 1, sliced
  •    Grapes - 1/4 cup, seedless or de-seed
  •    Watermelon - 1 1/2 cups, cubes OR Papaya
  •    Pomegranate - 1/4 cup (optional)
  •    Orange - 1 cup, segments
  •    Pineapple - 1 cup, cubes
  •    Black salt - 1/2 tsp
  •    Roasted cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  •    Chaat masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  •    Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp (freshly ground)

 

Method

1.Cut pineapple, watermelon, pears, apples, green apples, melon into one inch sized pieces. Halve the star fruit and then slice thinly.

2.Take all the cut fruits in a big bowl. Roast cumin seeds nicely. Grind the roasted cumin seeds coarsely with black salt in a mortar with a pestle. Remove into a bowl. 

3.Grind together fresh red chilies, green chillies, coriander leaves and mint leaves in the mortar with a pestle.

4.Add lemon juice, lime juice and grind again. Add the black salt and roasted cumin seed powder and mix well.Add this mixture to the fruit bowl. Add chaat masala.

5.Mix well and serve.
